Sousan Ortega

Sousan Ortega is the Senior Vice President of Field Operations in Target’s global supply chain and logistics organization. In this role she provides leadership oversight to 40+ distribution, fulfillment and flow centers across the United States. Her key responsibilities include developing talented leaders to drive business goals in the safest and most accurate manner, ensuring stores remain in stock and guest orders are met without issue. Prior to her current role, Sousan had ownership of the West, Northeast and Mid-West Regions in her time as Group Vice President.

She is well versed in leading large teams, driving both complex operational and cultural improvements, and developing next level leaders at Target. She leads through balanced leadership, knowing that team connection and inclusion is equally as imperative as operational acumen when driving for process improvement.

Previously, Sousan was a Vice President on the forefront of introducing Target’s first Flow Center to the Supply Chain network. She was responsible for the successful start-up of this new operating model in New Jersey which brought to life all new process paths, new automation, a home-grown WMS, and new inventory logic with the goal of improving speed and accuracy within our replenishment model, helping to unlock Target’s small-format strategy in Manhattan.

Sousan was also a Senior Director leading multiple sites in Texas and Arizona, gaining expertise in both replenishment and fulfillment throughout her career. Prior to her site leadership roles, she led teams in Engineering & Activation as well as Transportation at the Director and Senior Manager levels.

She holds a B.S. in Industrial Technology as well as a B.A. in Psychology from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, CA.
